Now it’s our turn to take advantage of time management activities! Remember, however, that learning how to manage your time is saving time for yourself. Stop running out of steam and take action to better manage this important resource over time.
Do you feel exhausted at the end of the day? Is your to-do list endless? Be better in control of your time and you will feel better and do more. Our advice can help.
- Make time management your top priority. Take a few minutes to prioritize your daily tasks. The best time for this is in the morning or the last time before leaving the office. Use the time interval that best suits your schedule, but make sure that you do this sequentially. This will help you manage your projects and keep the situation under control.
- Get rid of your ghosts. Unfinished tedious assignments are like ghosts that return to drain your energy. Putting off an unpleasant task for a week or two can affect your attitude and performance. If the action you need to take remains on your to-do list for too long, either you take an action or agree to let it go and stop worrying about it.
- See what works for you. Many time management tools are available. Some people prefer diaries or calendars. Others prefer software applications or programs with built-in features such as task lists. Ask your colleagues what tools they use to manage their time. Try a few and then find out which one is best for you.
- Take a break. As your time management improves, you will see an increase in your personal productivity. It can be exciting and even a little exciting. If you are often exhausted or often work in the evening, remember to schedule downtime from time to time. Schedule breaks or rewards to add balance to your work day.
- Keep your goal in mind. Easy to follow familiar routines. Once a regular meeting is scheduled, it’s easy to just go with the flow. But everything is changing. Try to remember a bigger goal when you follow a normal routine. If the goal is true, perfect. But when routines lose their value or effectiveness, encourage better use of time.
- Stay informed. In today’s fast-paced world of work, it’s easy to get confused. Remember your priority actions during the day. Take a moment to change priorities when an unexpected failure occurs. People who manage their time best find a practical balance between dedication and flexibility.
- Be organized. Being organized does not necessarily mean being ordered. An organized person is one who can quickly find what he is looking for. If this is not your case – whether it be a physical or computer work surface – take the time to organize yourself. You know that you are effective when you can quickly find what you need.
- Do not waste time waiting. It is only a matter of time before you are detained or caught waiting for something or someone. With a little preparation, you can wisely use the unexpected time by reading, taking notes, checking your email, or receiving phone calls if you have a portable device with you. This is much better than watching the minutes pass.
- Manage your time. Open calendars fill up quickly. If your workdays are often full of meetings and you don’t have much time to make a to-do list, plan the time for yourself. Allocate an hour or more on your calendar for your daily activities. And if you want to avoid working lunch, you may also need to schedule a daily lunch break.
- Track your time. If you can’t figure out where your time is going, try using the tracking tool. During the day, write down everything you do, with an interval of 15 to 30 minutes. During the week you will have enough data to see where improvements can be made.
